Honda launches road rage alarm

Honda has launched a new security device for drivers who feel threatened by ‘road rage’, which has a panic button that they can press to activate an alarm.

Called the Honda RoadRage Personal Attack System, the gadget costs £150 including fitting at a main dealer to any new or used Honda.

As well as setting off a loud alarm, the panic device flashes the hazard lights and blares out the recorded message ‘Help, driver under attack, call the police’ to attract attention to a driver in danger.

Drivers can deactivate the alarm by pressing the button again, if the threat passes.

Honda claims that road rage is a growing menace in Britain and more than half of all drivers have been sworn at, with a small number actually having been attacked by other motorists.
