Hyundai has taken the wraps off its revamped Accent small car, which goes on sale in February 2003.
The four-door saloon and five-door hatchback get a sharper, more contemporary look and will be available with a choice of three engines and two trim levels.
The only mechancial change is the replacement of the 1.5-litre petrol engine with a new 1.6-litre unit. The entry-level 1.3-litre petrol and 1.5 common-rail turbodiesel will be carried over from the current range.
The 1.6-litre engine has a claimed 0-60mph time of 10.3sec, a top speed of 118mph and combined fuel consumption of 41mpg. This improves slightly on the 1.5 MVi which recorded 10.5sec, 112mph and 32.8mpg.
Specification and pricing won’t be announced until January, but expect the new line-up to follow the old range closely, ranging from around £7200 to £10,000.
