Seen here for the first time in sketch form, the Ford Focus-sized Concept Sportback gives the first clues on what replacements for the current Mitsubishi Lancer will look like when they arrive in the next couple of years.
While the most radical elements of the design are likely to be lost, the overall appearance is in tune with the new look Mitsubishi has forged in recent years.
The concept is based on an adaptable new platform which Mitsubishi says will be used for a range of new models over the next three years, from compact 4x4s to small family cars.
