The new version of Britain’s best selling MPV is available in five trim levels, with five different engines. Options include the 104bhp 1.6, 148bhp 2.2, and 200bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol unit. There is also a 1.9-litre diesel engine, tuned to produce 118bhp or 147bhp. An automatic gearbox is available with the 2.2-litre petrol and 1.9-litre diesel engine. As before, all Zafiras come with seven seats as standard.
The range starts with the 1.6 Expression, priced from £12,995, which features electric front windows, twin airbags and a CD player.
Life specification costs from £14,495 and includes roof rails, side airbags and the option of air-conditioning for an extra £500. Buyers can opt for the Launch Pack if they pre-order the car before the end of July. This costs £500 and includes £1050 worth of extra equipment, such as climate control, cruise control, 16-inch alloy wheels and a trip computer.
Club trim starts at £15,195 and adds curtain airbags, air-conditioning and an MP3-compatible CD player.
The Zafira in Design trim costs from £18,995 with the 2.2-litre petrol engine and includes sport seats, a trip computer, tinted rear windows, electric rear windows and automatic headlamps.
SRi models are priced from £19,995 and bring larger 17-inch alloy wheels, stability control and a Sport button for sharper suspension, steering and throttle response.
All cars in the Zafira range come with Flex7 seats as standard, which means the third row of seats can fold away into the floor. Options include a large ‘panoramic’ sunroof, climate control, adaptive suspension, which adjusts settings according to driving and road conditions, and a leather interior.
A range-topping 237bhp Zafira VXR arrives in October and promises to be the fastest MPV on sale in Britain.
