Peugeot’s new 107 supermini goes on sale in June priced from £6995, which makes it a likely £500 more than the almost identical Citroen C1.
Developed as part of a joint project by Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota, the 107 shares most of its components with the C1 and Toyota Aygo and is even produced at the same factory in the Czech Republic. However, the C1 will start at an estimated £6495, and the Aygo at an estimated £6700.
Available in just one trim level, the 107 comes with a 67bhp 1.0-litre, three-cyclinder engine. Three- and five-door versions are available, with the five-door costing £7345. Buyers can choose an automatic gearbox for an extra £500.
As standard, the car is fitted with electronic stability control, four airbags, remote central locking, front electric windows, an engine immobiliser and a CD player.
Options include air-conditioning, rear airbags, alloy wheels and a reverse-parking aid.
Peugeot will introduce a 1.4-litre diesel engine for the 107 in Europe, but has yet to confirm if it will bring the engine to the UK.
