Peugeot's new baby MPV - In the cabin

02 July 2004
A pair of electrically sliding side doors will be standard on every model and aims to make getting in and out of the car as easy as possible, particularly in tight spaces around town.

The cabin itself can provide comfortable accommodation for up to four adults, but only if the two individual rear seats are slid fully back, which naturally robs space from the load bay.

Rear seats also fold and tumble forward to provide up to 416 litres of luggage space – a little bigger than a hatchback’s boot offers with the seats in place. The front passenger seat also folds in half to provide a flat work surface for the driver or space for longer loads.

The driving position is more upright than in the 206 and as a result it's far more comfortable.

Cubby holes and cup holders abound in the cabin, which also includes a pair of drawers under the front seats and underfloor stowage in the back.

Up to 18 parts in the cabin can be swapped over by owners, from seat upholstery to air vents. Like the removable covers of mobile phones, the 1007 allows owners to customise the look of the cabin. Every car will come supplied with two sets of parts as standard. Peugeot calls the system Cameleo.
