Renault is planning a coupe version of its next-generation Laguna to rival the forthcoming Peugeot 407 Coupe.
The new Laguna family car arrives towards the end of 2006. A sleek two-door version based on it is expected the following year.
That puts the French maker two years behind Peugeot, which says a 407 Coupe will be on sale by 2005. The saloon and estate versions arrive next year.
Besides the Laguna, Renault has plenty of other models waiting in the wings including the new Clio, which hits showrooms by the end of 2004. The Be Bop concepts seen at the recent Frankfurt Show give an idea of what the front end of the new supermini will look like.
The all-new Twingo city car will be sold in the UK for the first time from 2005, when a Scenic-based 4x4 to rival the Honda CR-V will also be launched. A larger off-roader is due in 2006 and is closely modelled on the Koleos concept unveiled in 2000.
Finally, a range-topping saloon to sit above the Vel Satis will go on sale in 2007.
