The entry-level Reference model is powered by a 101bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine. The Reference with a 104bhp 1.9-litre diesel engine costs £14,500. Stylance trim costs £14,400 for the 1.6 petrol or £15,550 for the 1.9 diesel.
Sport trim is available with a 148bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine for £16,500 or a 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel for £17,200.
All cars are fitted with front, side and curtain airbags, air-conditioning, anti-lock brakes, a CD player, electric front windows, remote central locking and driver’s seat height adjustment.
Stylance trim also includes dual-zone climate control, steering wheel-mounted stereo controls, 16-inch alloy wheels, electric rear windows and cruise control.
The Sport model has a six-speed manual gearbox instead of the five-speed ’box used in the other cars. Traction control, 17-inch alloy wheels and sports seats are also fitted.
Like its Altea MPV sibling, the Seat Toledo is based on the same platform as the latest Volkswagen Golf. The Toledo is a little larger than the Altea, however, and offers more luggage space.
