Seat has launched a hot new 178bhp version of its Toledo family car.
Called the Toledo Sport, the new addition uses the same 1.8-litre turbocharged engine as the Leon Cupra small hatch, and is priced at an identical £14,995. That’s £1800 more than the entry-level 1.8 Toledo, which develops 125bhp, but £1700 less than the range-topping 2.3 V5 with 170bhp.
The Toledo Sport sprints to 60mph in 8.0sec and has a top speed of 142mph. It returns 33.2mpg on the combined fuel cycle, while carbon dioxide emissions of 204g/km put the Toledo into the 24% company car tax band.
Both safety and luxury specification are comprehensive. Anti-lock brakes, traction control and emergency brake assist are all fitted, as well as front and side airbags. Inside, the Toledo Sport has a unique upholstery and is equipped with climate control, CD player and electric windows front and rear.
Meanwhile, Seat will increase all its prices by £5 from May 1, following the increase to Vehicle Excise Duty announced in April’s Budget.
