Buyers will be able to order the Renault Megane 225 hot hatch with optional sharper steering, sportier suspension and lighter alloy wheels.

The Cup Chassis pack costs £700, and includes all the chassis tweaks recently introduced on the limited-edition Megane 225 Trophy. The option will be available on the standard Megane 225 once all Trophy editions have been sold. The pushes the price up to £20,200 for the three-door car.

Performance is unchanged and the Megane 225 sprints to 60mph in 6.5sec and goes on to a top speed of 147mph. Fuel economy is 32.1mpg on the combined cycle, while lower-rate taxpayers will face a £99 monthly company-car bill.
