Brisk sales of 55-reg cars are predicted this month, however, some manufacturers have already announced incentives to get more buyers through showroom doors.

In particular, Citroen, Peugeot and Renault have all rolled out special deals on certain models.

Citroen is offering 0% finance deals on most of its models, excluding the C1, C2 and certain entry-level models. For buyers without a deposit, the company’s Elect 3 finance scheme provides a low 5% APR on all cars except the C1 and some entry-level models. C2 VTR and VTS models purchased via Elect 3 also qualify for one year’s free insurance.

In addition, cashback deals can knock up to £3400 off the list price of a Xsara Picasso, up to £3000 off a C5, and up to £2200 off a C3.

Peugeot is offering incentives on several HDi diesel models of all sizes. All 206 HDi diesel superminis, including the CC coupe-convertible, are available with one year’s free insurance. There are also 0% finance deals on HDi versions of the 307 hatchback (excluding E and S models), SW and Estate.

Buyers of 407 HDi family cars can benefit from interest-free finance over three years, while 607 and 807 HDis come with 0% APR over four years.

Meanwhile, What Car? Target Price mystery shoppers have found dealer discounts of 20.5% available on the entire Laguna range, and 12-14% reductions on many soon-to-be-replaced Clios, and on the Megane hatchback and saloon.

Potential Renault buyers should also check out prices from internet brokers such as Broadspeed.com, which is currently offering a selection of brand-new and pre-registered models with as much as 30% off list price.
