Vauxhall’s clever new Meriva baby MPV line-up will cost from £10,995 to £13,495, it was announced today.
The car goes on sale on June 2 with entry-level 1.6-litre Life models costing £10,995. Luxurious Enjoy and sporty Design trims both start at £11,995 with the same engine.
The Meriva’s closest rival is the Honda Jazz, which starts at £8995 for the spartan S-trimmed 1.4 model. The SE version of the Honda is better equipped and still undercuts the Meriva at £10,295. Ford’ mini-MPV, the Fusion, costs from £9995 for the 1.4 model.
All Merivas are equipped with electric front windows, remote central locking, anti-lock brakes and twin front airbags as standard, as well as the clever fold-flat rear seats.
Enjoy models gain air-conditioning, a CD player with steering wheel controls, tray tables, net pockets on the rear seat backs and under-seat storage. Passengers in the back can also listen to a CD on headphones while front-seat passengers use the radio. Cruise control is fitted to 1.8-litre Enjoy cars.
Design trim adds alloy wheels, front foglamps, tinted windows. Air-con is a £500 option.
