Mitsubishi will launch a new range-topping Warrior version of its seven-seat Grandis people-carrier on January 1, 2005.
The new Warrior uses the same 162bhp 2.4-litre petrol engine as the rest of the range. It will cost £500 more than an Elegance-trimmed car at £22,499 for a manual and £23,499 for an automatic.
Equipment includes a DVD entertainment system, while chrome and aluminium finishes are used on the front grille, door mirrors, door handles, tailgate and exhaust. Metallic silver or black paint and larger 18-inch alloy wheels are also standard.
All of the features found on an Elegance models are also fitted, including climate control, leather upholstery, a six-CD autochanger, front, side and curtain airbags, alarm and keyless entry system.
The 2.4-litre petrol takes the Grandis to 60mph in 10.0sec and to a top speed of 124mph. Combined fuel consumption is 30.1mpg, while emissions give it a place in the 30% company car tax bracket. The Warrior will consequently mean monthly company car tax bills from £223 for a higher-rate taxpayer.
