The Hyundai i30 Tourer will cost from £16,195 when it goes on sale on July 23, the company has announced.
The estate version of the i30 offers 528 litres of luggage space with the rear seats up, and 1642 litres with them folded down; that’s more space than either the Ford Focus Estate or the Volkswagen Golf Estate can provide.
The i30 Tourer is being offered with two engines – a 118bhp petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel in two states of tune, 109bhp and 126bhp.
The entry-level models, badged Classic, can be ordered with the petrol engine (£16,195) and the lower-powered diesel (£17,995); standard equipment includes air-conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity and multi-function steering wheel.

Active trim adds alloy wheels, cruise control, rear parking sensors, electric rear windows, and leather trim for the steering wheel and gearknob; it starts at £17,295, and comes with the same pair of engines and an automatic option (it costs around £800 more).

Style models come with the diesel engines only, and start at £20,095. They get dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, front parking sensors and electric folding door mirrors. The higher-powered diesel, in Style trim, costs £20,395.
More boot space than in the equivalent Ford Focus and VW Golf
The range-topper is Style Nav, which adds touch-screen navigation and a rear-view parking camera, and costs from £21,095.
