Our 2013 second-hand star cars

It's been a year since the What Car? Car of the Year Awards 2013, and the stars of last year can now be picked up on the used car market.

Here are a few examples of the models that picked up the big awards in 2013, one year on.

Ford Fiesta 1.0T Ecoboost 100 Zetec 5dr - Winner, Best Supermini
Used from £11,000

The Ford Fiesta is refined, comfortable and great to drive; you couldn’t ask for a lot more from a modern supermini. This nearly-new, 13-plate car has done 5104 miles and the Approved Used dealer is asking £11,000.

Volkswagen Up 1.0 75 High Up 3dr - Winner, Best City Car
**Used from £8990

**

The VW Up has an especially illustrious history, having picked up the main Car of the Year award in 2012, before continuing its success with the City Car category win in 2013.

We found this 1.0 75 High Up 3dr example for just under £9000. It is the exact trim that picked up our award, and this example has done only 10,000 miles.

BMW X3 xDrive20d SE auto - Winner, Best SUV
Used from £22,995

The BMW X3 blends power and efficiency just as well as it blends ride comfort and taut body control. This xDrive20d SE has cruise control, parking sensors, plus automatic headlights and wipers. The 11-plate car has done 56,703 miles and is priced at £22,995.

Seat Alhambra 2.0 TDI 140 Ecomotive S - Winner, Best MPV
Used from £19,980

The Seat Alhambra is a big car, but makes great use of the space inside, with genuine ability to seat seven adults. Great all-round visibility makes it surprisingly easy to manoeuvre and park, too. This 13-plate SE car comes with even more goodies than our favourite S trim model.

BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics auto - Winner, Best Executive Car
Used from £22,950

The BMW 320d ED is a car that works particularly well when paired with the automatic gearbox, and this 2012 example is available for just under £23,000. CO2 emissions are just 109g/km, and 0-62mph takes only 8.1 seconds, meaning you really do get a quick and efficient car.

Ford Mondeo 1.6 TDCi 115 Eco Zetec - Winner, Best Family Car
Used from £14,487

Buyers after a used Ford Mondeo are absolutely spoilt, with thousands to choose from. However, for this we have looked at the precise model that picked up the Best Family Car award in 2013 - the 1.6 TDCi 115 Eco Zetec, and we found an example with less than 9000 miles on the clock for just under £15,000.
