The face-lifted Toyota Land Cruiser will cost from £34,995 when it arrives in showrooms on 1 December.

The Land Cruiser is only available with a 3.0-litre diesel engine, which produces 188bhp and 310lb ft of torque. The entry-level car is the three-door variant with a six-speed manual gearbox. All the other models have five doors and a five-speed automatic transmission.

The cheapest five-door model costs £38,750 in Active trim, which comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control, rear view camera, and a touch-screen infotainment system. Specifying this model as a seven-seater costs just £395 more.

Icon trim costs £47,495, which adds larger wheels, leather seats, air-con for the rear passengers, satellite navigation and a 14-speaker sound system. It also gets the more sophisticated Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System.

The range-topping Invincible specification is priced at £52,495. It includes leather and wood trim, a DVD system and heated seats for the second row, adaptive suspension, and advanced electronic controls for off-roading and towing.

Icon and Invincible trims come with seven seats as standard. Icon can also be specified with the advanced off-road controls for an additional £1650. All Land Cruisers can be ordered with a £1360  safety pack that includes adaptive cruise control and emergency braking.

In addition to the specification upgrades, the most obvious change to the outgoing car is the new-look front end with a deeper bumper and a much chunkier grille. In the cabin, there is new aluminium trim around the air-con dials and instruments, and between the main binnacles is the new colour screen.

Passengers should now have an easier time getting in, too, as the second row of seats folds farther forward to improve access to the third row.

Customers can order the 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser now, or visit a showroom for a test drive from 1 December.
