2WD BMW X3 revealed

A two-wheel-drive version of the BMW X3 has gone on sale.

The X3 sDrive 18d is powered by a 141bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine. When the X3 has a six-speed manual gearbox fitted, it does an average of 55.4mpg and emits just 135g/km of CO2.

BMW also offers an eight-speed automatic 'box, which increases CO2 emissions to 142g/km, while average economy falls to 52.3mpg.

The manual model completes the 0-62mph dash in 9.9 seconds, while the auto takes 10.3 seconds.

The rear-wheel-drive sDrive 18d SE comes with much the same kit as the 4WD xDrive 20d including engine stop-start, 17-inch alloys, leather seats, and BMW's iDrive infotainment system but it misses out on Hill Descent Control.

M Sport models come with larger wheels, M Sport styling, sport seats and stiffer suspension.

The SE manual costs from 28,580, while the M Sport starts at 31,275. The optional automatic gearbox adds 1525, and all versions of the new X3 are available to order now.
