Audi has launched its new A3 soft-top convertible - and you can expect to see it in UK showrooms next spring.
Eschewing the metal folding roof found on many rivals, the A3 cab has either a semi- or fully automatic fabric roof.
A fabric roof, claims Audi, takes up less space, therefore leaving more space for passengers in the back. The car should also have better performance and lower emissions than a convertible with a metal roof.
The boot has 260 litres of space, extending to 674 litres with the rear seats folded.
Power comes from a choice of four engines - 1.8 and 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engines, or 1.9 or 2.0-litre turbodiesel engines.
The A3 Cabriolet will go on sale in spring 2008. Prices haven't been announced, but expect to pay around £20,000.
