Alcohol lock to be tested - Introduction

The last few years have seen the level of drink-driving rise in the UK, with increasing numbers of people killed as a result.

In response, the Department for Transport now wants to launch a high-tech system which prevents convicted motorists from starting their cars if they’ve had a drink.

It’s a solution that’s proved to cut repeat offences amongst drink-drivers in other countries, so the Government is keen to introduce it in the UK as soon as possible.
