Alfa Giulietta to cost from 16,995

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta small family car will start at 16,995.

The new five-door model is targeted at the likes of the VW Golf and Ford Focus, and buyers in Britain will get their first chance to see the car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.

They will also have a choice of five engines and three mainstream trims as well as the range-topping Cloverleaf to choose from.

The cheapest model in the range is the 118bhp 1.4 Turismo, while the other petrol engines are the 168bhp 1.4 Multiair (costing from 19,495) and the 232bhp unit thats reserved for the top-of-the-range 24,495 Cloverleaf model.

Diesel Giuliettas
Diesel-engined Giuliettas start with the 103bhp 1.6 JTDM-2 Turismo at 17,895, and the more powerful 168bhp 2.0-litre models run from 21,195.

Standard on every model are four electric windows, air-conditioning, LED front and rear lights and six airbags, and Alfa Romeos DNA system that allows the driver to tailor the cars responses to changing road conditions.

Only the Cloverleaf does without an engine stop-start system, but this flagship model compensates with its own trim: 18-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows and red brake calipers.
