Nissan has shuffled its Micra supermini range, halving the number of trim levels and cutting two engine options.
Instead of six trim levels, buyers now have a choice of three, called Initia, Spirita and Sport. The 64bhp 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel are also dropped.
Initia cars cost from £8995 with the 79bhp 1.2-litre petrol. They're identical in price to the former S specification and carry the same equipment including front and side airbags, CD player, electric front windows and central locking.
Spirita models are priced from £9995, the same as the earlier SE trim, and add leather steering wheel with controls for the upgraded stereo, electric door mirrors, air-conditioning and 15-inch alloy wheels.
Sport cars will now set you back from £10,495, an increase of £405 that Nissan justifies with the addition of new alloy wheels and climate control.
The £10,195 160R is replaced by a £10,995 Sport SR which uses the same 110bhp engine as before. Automatic headlights and wipers, curtain airbags and stability control are standard along with all the other features of Sport models.
