These are the first pictures of the Aston Martin DBS.
Powered by a 510bhp 6.0-litre V12, the two-seater accelerates from 0-62mph in 4.3sec and has a top speed of 191mph.
Designers have made extensive use of lightweight carbonfibre body panels in order to save over 30kg on standard materials. The car weighs 1695kg.
It is also the first road-going Aston Martin to have carbon-ceramic brakes, which are 12.5kg lighter than conventional steel brakes and far more effective at slowing the car down.
Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez, said: 'The DBS is the ultimate expression of Aston Martin's engineering and technical ability.
It offers pure performance without compromise, and bridges the gap between our road and track cars, the DB9 and DBR9.'
The DBS, which replaces the Vanquish, will be built at Aston Martin's headquarters at Gaydon, near Warwickshire.
Deliveries are expected to begin early next year, with prices to be confirmed at the Frankfurt motor show next month.
