We've already lifted the lid on the next Mercedes C-Class - now we've got a sneak preview of the next Audi A4.

The two giants of the compact executive market will both be replaced over the next two years, but the Audi will be the later of the two.

Mercedes is tipped to introduce the C-Class next year, but Audi won't launch its new A4 until 2008.

The A4 is a well-established, key model for the manufacturer, but Audi is on the verge of a huge product expansion that will take into entirely new markets.

A sporty S3 addition to the A3 range is first later this year, which is rumoured to have an output of 270bhp.
