Audi A6 Allroad quattro

The Audi A6 Allroad quattro - a more rugged version of the A6 Avant - has been revealed.

As with Audi’s other Allroad models, the A6 Allroad gets an SUV-style makeover, with chunkier wheelarches, side cladding panels and a new front grille with vertical slats.

There are re-designed front and rear bumpers, too, with stainless steel under-body protection panels. The lower bumper sections and sills are painted in a contrasting colour and an exclusive ‘Java Braun’ colour is available.

The A6 Allroad sits 6cm higher than the Avant; all versions have four-wheel drive and adjustable air suspension.

In Europe there’ll be a choice of a 3.0-litre V6 petrol or diesel engines. The engine line-up for the UK is yet to be announced. There’s no word on prices, either, but more information is expected soon.

The A6 Allroad quattro is likely to make its public debut at the 2012 Geneva motor show in March.
