What is it? All-new version of Audi's executive saloon Audi plans to launch 13 new models during 2011, but few will be as important as this one: the all-new A6.
Audi hopes that its blend of slick styling, efficient engines, sumptuous interior and improved driver appeal will be enough to give it an edge over arch-rivals the
BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class.
At first glance, the A6 looks similar to the old one, but the harder you look, the more different it appears. It's new from the ground up, and being shorter, lower and wider than the outgoing car gives it a more low-slung, sporty appearance.
It's more aggressive, too, with a wider, edgier grille
and distinctive angular headlights.
Throughout the body, the use of aluminium and high-tech steels help to make the new car lighter than the old one by up to 80kg, depending on model.
