Audi reveals broadband A8

- Connection is nearly seven times faster than 3G
- Showcased in an Audi A8 prototype…
- … but might not arrive that quickly
Audi has showcased its superfast new wireless broadband technology in a long wheelbase A8.
The connection might be fast – at 100Mbps it's 6.8 times quicker than a typical 14.4Mbps 3G connection – but don't hold your breath when it comes to getting your A8 in the fast lane of the information superhighway any time soon.
Audi says it has no timetable for the introduction of the system in any of its cars.
So, while Audi technicians might have successfully streamed data-intensive high-definition videos to the development car, buyers will have to wait a bit longer before they can video-conference while they're chauffeured around.
