27 February 2008

Audi's TT coupe and convertible will be available with diesel power for the first time later this year.

The car will have a 168bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder TDI engine that powers the TT coupe from 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds, but can achieve on average 53.3mpg and emits 140g/km of carbon dioxide.

The convertible almost matches the coupe's stats, with a 0-62mph time of 7.7seconds, average fuel consumption of 51.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 145g/km.

The coupe costs from £26,350 and the roadster starts at £28,350.

Order books open next week, with the first deliveries expected in the summer.
