Audi TT races the heart - In the cabin

21 February 2006
In the cabin, the Shooting Brake looks remarkably close to the finished article. The fit and finish are of a higher quality than you'd normally expect of a show car, a sure sign that this is a design direction Audi is looking at for production models.

The distinctive aluminium spars of the current TT's cabin have gone, but the centre console is now angled towards the driver. Acres of iPod-style white plastic trim will be replaced with metal in production, while the large centre screen adds a touch of high-tech.

This screen showcases Audi's next-generation satellite-navigation system. Instead of having to input letters through a menu – for example, when spelling out a destination – drivers can simply write them on the screen with their finger. Clever stuff. We will see such technology on future Audis, but don't expect it to be ready in time for the new TT.
