This is the Peugeot Urban Crossover concept car that was unveiled at the Beijing motor show today.
The compact crossover has been designed by Peugeot's studios in Paris, Shanghai and Sao Paulo to reflect the increased urbanisation of the global population.
Its dimensions – at 4.14m long and 1.74m wide – reflect Peugeot's brief to create a compact vehicle that combines multi-role ability with a bold design that will appeal to young city-dwellers of the future.
A high-riding bonnet sits above a 'smiling' grille, while the profile reveals a raked windscreen that flows seamlessly into a low roofline. The raised body, flared wheelarches and sculpted wings compound the concept car's low, wide stance.
Its aluminium roof spoiler and sporty double bubble roof is reminiscent of the Peugeot RCZ coupe, while the company's new 'claw' design is evident in the front and rear lights.
The Urban Crossover concept car will make its European debut at the Paris motor show in September 2012.
