This eye-catching new BMW concept is intended to celebrate the company's success in the famous Mille Miglia race in Italy.
BMW says the Concept Coupe Mille Miglia 'looks to both the past and the future in its styling and construction' - but don't expect to see its raising roof, which does away with the need for doors, any time soon.
The most likely feature to transfer from the concept to production cars are the LED headlights. These energy-saving bulbs are already used in taillights and will become a common feature in headlights in the near future, too.
The concept takes BMW's historic 328 racing car as a starting point, while you may also notice hints of today's Z4 Coupe in there, too.
The BMW 328 Coupe won the 1940 Mille Miglia with the fastest-ever average speed of 103mph over the 1000-mile course. In the modern-day revival of the event, it went on to become the first car to win it twice, with a second victory in 2004.
