BMW released the first sketch of its Megacity electric vehicle last week, but now we can reveal the car in all its glory.
Our computer image is based on the sketch and shows what BMW's first electric car could look like when it goes on sale in 2013.
The four-seater will be based on technology already being trialled in the battery-powered Mini E and 1 Series. It will also use a carbonfibre passenger cell to keep weight down.
The car is likely to be costly as a result, so BMW might lease it rather than sell it to customers.
The rear-engined, rear-wheel-drive car has a 100Kw motor beneath the floor and is anticipated to have a range of between 100 and 130 miles. It's bigger than a Mini, but smaller than the 1 Series.
The project is the first in a string of electric cars that the company says will eventually account for up to 12% of its sales by 2020.
