High pump prices are here to stay and could even increase, said BP boss Lord Browne yesterday, as he declared BP's first-quarter profits of £3 billion.
Browne said crude oil prices were likely to remain high and could push the price of a litre of fuel above £1 across the country.
He said the company hasn't been passing on the full increases in crude oil costs to motorists, contrasting 30% rise in the price of crude with an 11% hike in the cost of petrol and diesel.
