Audi A6 buyers are being offered a new, easy-clean alloy wheel that its makers claim will never chip, fade or discolour.
The 18-inch wheel is treated with a product called Dura-Bright, which protects it from damage and means it can be wiped clean using just water alone.
Audi is the first car manufacturer to sell the wheels, which also benefit from being made from forged, rather than cast, aluminium. As a result, each wheel is 2kg lighter than a standard alloy, providing marginal fuel and CO2 benefits.
A set of these wheels, called Dynamic, is a £1300 cost option on S and SE versions of the Audi A6, which is £400 more than the cost of upgrading to standard alloy wheels.
