Confused about how much road tax you will pay this year? If your car was registered after March 2001, the price you pay will depend on the amount of CO2 your car emits. You can find this data in the Running Costs of individual car reviews on whatcar.com.

Diesel/petrol cars registered after March 1 2001
Band A (up to 100g/km CO2) no fee
Band B (101-120g/km CO2) £35
Band C (121-150g/km CO2) £115
Band D (151-165g/km CO2) £140

* In the run up to the Budget it was leaked that the highest polluting cars would pay £400 a year in road tax. This will be for Band G cars from 2008.
