Want to give your Volvo a boost? Then buy it some more bhp.
The Volvo approved power upgrade is available for V70, XC70 and S80 models that have Volvo's 182bhp D5 diesel engine, boosting output to 202bhp.
The upgrade will be available for XC90 models with the same engine later this year.
Racing car technology has been used in the development of the upgrade, which has been designed by Polestar Racing AB – the company responsible for preparing Volvo's C30 DRIVe racing cars for the Swedish Touring Car Series.
Warranty and emissions not affected
Fuel economy and emissions are left unchanged by the upgrade, which provides more power at lower revs. Pulling muscle is also boosted.
Maximum speed is unaffected and Volvo says that no upgrades for the brakes or tyres are necessary. The company's standard warranty cover is unaffected.
The upgrade will be available at Volvo dealers from August 1, and will cost £650.
