&149; CTS to debut at Detroit show in January
&149; E-Class rival to be sold in right-hand-drive
&149; Estate BLS and small hatch also planned
Cadillac is creating an all-new CTS executive saloon, and we'll be getting it in the UK in right-hand drive.
The new CTS will make its debut at the Detroit motor show in January, but UK buyers won't be able to get their hands on it until the end of 2007.
Unlike its predecessor, the CTS will be available with a diesel engine - most likely a V6 unit. Cadillac considers a diesel engine to be vital to the car's success on this side of the Atlantic. A coupe version of the car is also likely.
As well as the new CTS, Cadillac is thought to be considering a convertible or estate version of the BLS saloon. The BLS is based on the Saab 9-3, which is available as both cabriolet and estate, so in theory creating a BLS drop-top or estate is relatively easy.
If those new models aren't enough, GM product development boss Bob Lutz recently hinted at the possibility of a baby Caddy to rival the BMW 1-Series. Unlike the Cadillac BLS - which was designed specifically for Europe - it would be sold globally, and would be rear-wheel drive.
