Car Security Awards 2008 - Compact MPV

19 June 2008
1st: Citroen C4 Picasso Exclusive
Price from £19,580
Theft of
Theft from
Another trim-specific win for Citroen since the laminated glazing on this Exclusive version isn't fitted on lesser models.

It's a long way ahead of the pack, however, and is described by security testers as 'the armoured car for the family'.

Every model in the range gets strong locks, along with added security features such as a locking fuel filler cap and window etching.

2nd: Volkswagen Touran (except S)
Price from £18,175
This is a good showing for the Touran, but it would apply across the whole range if the decent alarm used for most models wasn't a £260 option for S trim.

3rd: Mazda 5
Price from £14,770
The Mazda 5 is only just behind the Volkswagen and could easily leapfrog it if its stereo was coded to the car and, consequently, would be useless if stolen.
