Our cars: Dacia Sandero video update
To see if the Sandero's lack of glamour becomes wearing or charming over time, we've taken delivery of a 0.9-litre petrol version, and we'll be living with it in real-world driving conditions for 12 months.
We've gone for the top-spec Laureate model, which comes with electric windows, electric side mirrors, Bluetooth, air-conditioning, a seven-inch touch-screen infotainment system and cruise control.
We've also added a couple of options, in the form of a £250 sat-nav system and stereo upgrade, plus metallic paint for £470.
Despite this, our Sandero still came in at less than £10,000, with the final price working out at just £9515.
Consumer reporter Matthew Burrow has taken charge of the budget supermini, and he'll be keeping us up to date with his progress on a weekly basis. Here is the first of his regular video updates.
