Kia will show off a drop-top Cee'd concept at the Geneva motor show next month.

The Ex_cee'd is based on the three-door Cee'd hatch due here next year and was designed by Peter Schreyer, the man behind the Audi TT. Kia says the Ex_cee'd could be a hint of what future models may look like.

Unlike many of the latest crop of drop-tops – Peugeot 207 CC , Vauxhall Astra Twintop, VW Eos – the Ex_cee'd cabrio forgoes the folding metal roof in favour of a fabric top.

Alongside the Ex_cee'd cabrio concept at the Geneva show will be an estate version of the Cee'd as well as a Kio Rio Hybrid.
