DAB stands for Digital Audio Broadcasting - that's the techy name for digital radio.

Like digital TV, it offers the potential for heaps more stations. A digital signal is also less prone to interference than an analogue one, and sound quality is often much better.

There are currently 226 digital stations in the UK (43 BBC ones and 183 commercial).
