The Chevrolet Aveo will cost from just £9995 when it goes on sale in January.

Trims
Chevrolet's supermini comes in three trims: LS, LT and range-topping LTZ.

Entry-level LS cars come with remote locking, electrically heated door mirrors, electric front mirrors and a CD player.

Moving up to LT trim brings 15-inch alloys, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, a four-way adjustable driver's seat, Bluetooth and a chrome gearknob surround. Prices for LT cars start at £10,995.

LTZ adds a leather-trimmed steering wheel, front foglamps, rear parking sensors and automatic headlamps. Prices start at £12,195.

Engines
Two petrol engines will be available – an 85bhp 1.2-litre and a 100bhp 1.4 - plus 1.3-litre diesels with either 74bhp or 94bhp. All units come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, but 1.4-litre models have the option of a six-speed automatic 'box.

Full technical details and equipment levels will be revealed ahead of its on-sale date in January.
