The Chevrolet Cruze was originally unveiled at the Paris motor show, but it's worth taking another look as it is set to go on sale in the UK in June.

The potential Ford Focus or Hyundai i30 rival is hugely significant for cash-strapped Chevrolet because it is the company's first car that will go on sale across the world.

As a result, it's received a lot of investment, and the company proudly boasts of it ushering in a new era of quality.

The five-seat saloon will initially be offered with a 104bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel.

Later on 124bhp1.8-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines will be added to the line-up.

Prices haven't been released, but them to start at around £11,000.
