Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing likely

24 January 2013

It's been revealed that a hot Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing is likely to go on sale in 2014.

A DS3 Racing hatchback went on sale in limited numbers in 2011, with just 200 offered in the UK.

It was powered by a 204bhp 1.6 turbo engine, and had a wider track and lower suspension than the regular DS3. It was capable of 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds and had a top speed of 146mph.

However, with a price of £23,100, the Racing hatch was far from cheap. If the Cabrio carries the same premium — as it does on lesser versions — expect a price of around £25,500.

DS3 project director Francois Neveu told What Car?: 'There’s no reason why we couldn't do it — it could make sense'.
