Citroen has cut the trims for its Xsara Picasso MPV to just two - Desire and VTX models.

Base-level Desire models come with air-conditioning, four airbags, central locking, a CD player and electric mirrors as standard. Prices are£9995 for the 1.6-litre petrol model and £11,495 for the 1.6-litre diesel.

VTX models add alloy wheels, cruise control, rear parking sensors, all-round electric windows and folding mirrors to the kit offered on Desire cars. A 1.6-litre petrol VTX costs £11,390, while the 1.9-litre diesel costs £11,780.
