CityRover has arrived - On the road

Tuesday, July 08, 2003
One engine is available in the CityRover, a 1.4-litre petrol unit developing 84bhp. It's the same engine used by the four-year-old Indica, but has been tuned to produce an extra 10bhp.

Much of the car's underpinnings have been carried over from the Tata, although Rover says it has made specific changes to improve refinement and ride. The front end of the CityRover sits lower than the Tata, while the springs and dampers have been modified to ensure a better ride on UK roads.

The CityRover also gets larger wheels and a tighter steering rack with fewer turns from lock to lock.
