Extra power means the latest Corvette Z06 Coupe is quicker than ever.
The 2008 Corvette’s 7.0-litre V8 now puts out 505bhp, up from 498bhp. Pulling power climbs to 470lb/ft from 468lb/ft. The 2008 model will sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.9 second and reach a top speed of 198mph.
Changes to the suspension promise better cornering to match the improved acceleration, thanks to a wider track front and rear and upgraded springs. Traction and stability control should help drivers stay safe.
In spite of the performance, this is no stripped out racer. Climate control, cruise control, a six-CD changer and an electrically powered driver’s seat are standard.
Prices for the Z06 Coupe start from £61,995. The tamer version of the Corvette, the C6, still puts out 431bhp and is priced from £45,995.
