An early batch of Euro NCAP crash-test results has been released ahead of the full set of latest findings due in June.
The new
Volkswagen Passat family car, Peugeot’s 1007 supermini, and the new
Vauxhall Zafira MPV all scored a maximum five stars for occupant protection. Other models also achieved creditable results. The trio of city cars from Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota – the
C1,
107 and
Aygo – the Honda FR-V compact MPV and the
Suzuki Swift supermini all scored four stars.
Protection for pedestrians continues to lag behind occupant safety, however. The Honda FR-V and Suzuki Swift scored three out of four, while the other cars tested picked up only two stars.
On June 23, the rest of the results from the latest round of testing will be published by NCAP and posted on Whatcar.com.
This will include the
BMW 3 Series, Dacia Logan, Fiat Stilo, Lexus GS300,
Mercedes A-Class,
Renault Clio and Smart Forfour.
