Daewoo becomes Chevrolet - Introduction

19 January 2005
Daewoo cars will be called Chevrolet from February 1, 2005.

The manufacturer had originally hoped to have the new brand name in place across the UK for the beginning of January 2005. However, it has pushed back the changeover to give its dealers more time to adjust.

In all, Chevrolet will offer six models ranges in the UK. All except two have been previously sold with a Daewoo badge.

The ranges have been rearranged and in some cases prices fall or equipment levels rise – both are the case for the Matiz city car, which is near the end of its life.

Click through the links below to see how each model is affected by the switch to the Chevrolet name. All of the models featured here are petrol-engined. The company is developing diesel engines, but they will not be ready until 2006.
