The car: Mazda CX-5 2.2d 150 SE-L
The saving: £2058
The discounted price: £21,637
The broker:

Spacious, practical and fitted with Mazda’s Skyactiv technology to decrease its weight and increase its efficiency, the CX-5 drives well and uses very little fuel in the process.

The diesel in this deal is our pick of the range for its hefty 280lb ft of torque, accelerating the car from 0-60mph in 9.2sec, while also returning 61.4mpg on average.

SE-L trim comes with plenty of kit, including climate control, front and rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, cruise control and auto lights and wipers.

While the body is very well controlled, the CX-5's ride is firmer than the Nissan Qashqai's and Audi Q3's.

Equally, there’s a distinct grumble from the diesel engine, and once up to speed this is replaced by the rumble from the tyres and the whistling of the wind around the door mirrors.

Although the cabin feels well screwed together, some of the materials used lower down on the dashboard feel quite cheap compared to its rivals.

Should I add any options?
Since sat-nav can be had on any trim level we’d suggest buying entry-level SE-L then specifying nav.

We’d only go further up the range if you really can’t do without luxuries such as heated leather seats, keyless entry, a reversing camera and an upgraded stereo.
