Off the back of huge success for the Nissan Qashqai, which won What Car?'s Car of the Year 2014 Award, Nissan returns to the hatchback segment with the Pulsar.

The Volkswagen Golf-rivalling model promises a comprehensive equipment list and efficient engines.

When the car is launched it'll have a choice of a 1.2-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel with a choice of six-speed manual or CVT automatic gearboxes. Sub-100g/km CO2 emissions are also promised.

The car in this deal features the frugal diesel in entry-level Visia trim. Despite its humble appointments, this car still features Bluetooth, cruise control, air-con, alloys and steering wheel audio controls.

Upgrading to Acenta brings climate control, automatic lights and wipers and an emergency-braking system. N-tec adds LED daytime running lights, infotainment and a reversing camera.

Top spec Tekna models have leather upholstery, heated front seats and extra driver aids.
